This 54 mm bottomless (naked) portafilter lets you watch the shot as it forms, so you can spot spurts and channelling and make quick grind/distribution fixes. The head is 304 stainless steel for durability and easy cleaning, paired with an almond solid-wood handle that feels great in hand. A double basket is included, ready for typical 18–20 g doses.
Will it fit my machine?
It’s designed for 54 mm, 3-ear Breville group heads—commonly used on Barista Express (BES870), Barista Pro (BES878), Barista Touch (BES880), Bambino Plus (BES500), Infuser (BES840), and other 54 mm models. Bottomless vs spouted
Bottomless gives live feedback and can preserve more crema; spouted is tidier for split shots. The bottomless design lets you observe the flow, rate and colour of your espresso, helping you achieve steadier, more consistent extractions.
How to use (micro guide)
- Dose: 18–20 g (basket included).
- Distribute: WDT/needle, then level and tamp evenly.
- Pull the shot: Aim for a 1:2 ratio (e.g., 18 g in → 36 g out) in ~25–30 s, adjusting grind as needed.
